Hashim Samarchi is a visual artist from Iraq. He graduated from the Institute of Fine Arts in Baghdad in 1957, and then from Baghdad’s Academy of Fine Arts in 1966. A scholarship by the Gulbenkian Foundation sent him to Lisbon from 1967 to 1969 to pursue a degree in Graphic Arts.
