abdulwahab morsi

 

b. 1931, Cairo, Egypt.

 Abdulwahab Al Morsi was largely influenced by Egyptian heritage and history, as is distinct in his work, and is a key figure in the contemporary fine art movement for over 40 years. 

Specializing in painting, Abdulwahab Al Morsi received his Bachelor of Fine Arts from Cairo University in 1957, and a Diploma from Cairo’s Teacher’s Art Institute in 1958. He progressed in special studies in engraving at the San Fernando University in Spain, between 1971 and 1972. 

Between his studies, he worked for the Egyptian Antiquities Registration Center (1958-1974), after which he became the General Director of exhibition at the Ministry of Egyptian Culture 91974-1980), and then the General Director of Art Museums (1980-1990)
