KUWAIT PROTOCOL 2007
The Kuwait Protocol with: Bassem Mansour, Fritzi Metzger, Ali AI-Sarraf, Amani Baqer, Ziyad AI- Murad
The Kuwait Protocol is a collective exhibition held at The Sultan Gallery in Kuwait. It emphasizes on the importance of dreaming as part of the human condition and suggests that the human individual should give up limitations that hinder the expansion of the creative mind caused by several modern socio political or economic factors.
The protocol groups together 5 artists who work with free media and a gallerist who welcomed the protocol. Each of the artists will reveal his unspoken dreams in some sort of an introspective where dreams are expressed in their best form or by disclosing some of the embarrassing details. The protocol is not an agreement of any sort, but it is a simple invitation to acknowledge and highlight one level step beyond industrialized freedom.
There is always a little more of something to dream about and sometimes a little more than what reality can afford. Nowadays, dreams can get costly to realize. They can consume mental and physical energy. That's the reason why some of the people try to limit themselves to what they can identify as "Reality”. They try to have fewer dreams.
There are also other who look at dreams as part of reality itself. Those will carry on having more dreams or even bigger ones.
"The fewer the better" vs. "The bigger the better"
