farid haddad

b. 1945, Beirut, Lebanon. 

Farid Haddad’s early paintings involved colour field painting, but by the 1980’s his work was more based on experimental abstraction. 

Haddad graduated from the American University of Beirut’s Department of Fine Arts and Performing Arts in 1969. In the 1970’s he worked at the University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee, teaching drawing and painting, and from the late 1970’s had been a faculty member of the Department of Art and Art History of New England College in New Hampshire.
