rima farah
b. 1955, Amman, Jordan.
Rima Farah is an artist whose prints and paintings are greatly inspired by Arabic scripts, Sufism, and poetry. She now works solo, focusing and developing on calligraphic works. Her work is said to not be merely a series of texts but a result of her experiences, especially drawing from her Arab roots.
Growing up, Farah moved places with her family a lot, as a result of her father working for the WHO in Africa. She studied art in England at the Eastbourne and Cambridge School of Art. This followed many years of travel and a partnership with fellow artist Kevin Jackson, both creating neo-orientalist work for the Arab art scene.
